Berkeley is located on the east shore of San Francisco Bay in northern California about 20 miles from the city of San Francisco. Berkeley is the home of the University of California, Berkeley which is the oldest and flagship campus of the ten-campus University of California system, founded in 1868, and currently with about 35,000 students. Berkeley has a moderate climate with dry summers, typically with morning sea fog followed by sunny warm days in the low 20's C.

The conference will be held at the elegant Berkeley City Club (www.berkeleycityclub.com) which is a listed California Historic Landmark building, designed and built in 1929 by local architect Julia Morgan. The Berkeley City Club is within one block of the UC Berkeley campus and within walking distance of numerous restaurants, shops, and bars.
